The name Lolita has nothing to do with pedophillia. It was chosen by Japanese designers in the 70’s because it sounded old fashion and European so it fit the style. Due to a language barrier they did not know what connotations it had outside of Japan
The Lolita fashion community is very anti pedophillia, please do not try to say that we are fetishists for using the terminology our community has used since the 70s it is not our fault
Lolita fashion was intended to be intentionally childish, but not because it would be sexual to pedophiles. The original lolita fashion movement was a symbol of rebellion, of girls reclaiming their sexuality from a society that told them to dress formally at all times to find a husband.
These girls created fashion based around a little girl’s idea of fancy. It wasn’t good looking to men, but the women who wore it loved it, and that was the entire point.
Lolita fashion is basically the Flapper movement of Japan (which, for those who don’t know, was also a movement of young women defying traditional gender roles by dressing in ways they found fun instead of in ways that were deemed appropriate).
This is all very true. Literally the entire “kawaii” pop subculture (in its many varying forms) started as a countercultural movement with Japanese school girls and young women. It became such a “problem” that school administrators had to figure out ways to try to control it cuz girls’ stylized cutesy handwriting was basically becoming illegible. These girls even changed some grammar to make it cuter. It was a raging counter movement against the concept/image of the refined elegant woman of marriageable age. Basically a big “we don’t give a fuck” to the “Nadeshiko” image, for those familiar, and the expectations of the status quo.
TL;DR Lolita fashion and Kawaii culture were basically feminine pseudo-punk, that became pop subcultures
This is Cody and this is Cody’s medical bill. Cody is my coworker/amazing friend Malinda’s “special little man”. She loves him more than the world itself. Today at work she was telling me that her husband rushed Cody to the vet after he wasn’t eating and hadn’t used the bathroom in days. The vet first told them it was liver failure. But after more tests, they said it was his gallbladder. They said that he can survive without it. Cody is having surgery to remove his gallbladder but they put the cost of surgery on credit cards and are trying to raise money to pay it off.

Do not buy into that bullshit about us getting a “raise”. It’s not a raise. Not when workers who have been there 2+ years who made $13 when they started and now make $14 are only getting that $15 like every other new employee is. We should be getting payed $16 but we aren’t.
They already took away our ability to earn payed days off. Yup that’s right. Thru points earned thru productivity we could earn a payed day off if we had a certain amount of points.
Now they take away our monthly bonuses too that we earned thru attendance and productivity.
AND they took away our stocks because of this so-called “raise”.
All they did was move the money elsewhere. Actually, I haven’t done the calculations yet but I bet we LOST money from our pay.
