“Folks, there’s nothing left from the Linguistics division. We lost all the indigenous languages collection: the recordings since 1958, the chants in all the languages for which there are no native speakers alive anymore, the Curt Niemuendaju archives: papers, photos, negatives, the original ethnic-historic-linguistic map localizing all the ethnic groups in Brazil, the only record that we had from 1945. The ethnological and archeological references of all ethnic groups in Brazil since the 16th century… An irreparable loss of our historic memory. It just hurts so much to see all in ashes.”

Cira Gonda, translated by Diogo Almeida, about the fire at Brazil’s National Museum.

Deregulation strikes again.

Free market” capitalism does NOT care about raging forest fires, it does not care about endangering firefighters, it does not care about people dying due to lack of healthcare insurance. Unregulated capitalism cares only about making profits, apparently at any and all costs.

So I’m looking over my early super basic storyboarding for the amv, a lot of which is just written out cuz I was more concerned about getting content down than composition, and there’s a panel that literally just says “Brick in pain”. And I think that describes my current feelings towards him quite well

rita-mary:

More than human is updated

Brick had a sexy dream, an unconscious one, and Blossom is in it

Butch is fucked up. Buttercup cries. He held her hand

Him told Brick his dream is only his fault, bc of his Blossom desire. The monsters attack is apparently Mrs. Morbucks fault

And Mike is gone

And I’m dead.

Hey, reminder that one of the reasons humanity has been able to flourish is because we formed societies and helped support each other. Complete independence and self reliance is a myth to try to get you to buy more things. Please reach out. Please connect yourself. There is no reason you have to do things alone.
