I read the entire new chapter today throughout my commute and dinner. I left a 4 paragraph review that really doesn’t convey the depths of my Feelings™️. And then I literally screeched at my bf on and off for a couple hours. I’m still reeling and I’m in a cycle of like 10 minutes of calm, and then 10 minutes of wanting to screech again.

I kinda miss the version of her with dark eyes. It’s Very rare for half Asian people to have blue eyes. One of my cousin’s kids has blue eyes but he’s ¼ and his brother has brown eyes.

The manga is called Gokushufudou: The Way of the House Husband.
Wow I gotta read this. Also the title is amazing. “Gokudo” (different kanji for the “do” iirc) generally refers to criminals and Yakuza specifically (as opposed to “katagi” or people on the straight and narrow). In this case, “dou” is the same kanji as like “bushidou”, so way/path. And “shufu” literally means housewife/housespouse. All combined to make a brand new word
(But also he’s so clearly (ex)yakuza??? Like the suit + sunglasses look is practically a uniform? So much so that my mom’s cousins went to a sorta formal kendo thing in Japan and it happened to be sunny, and they kept being mistaken for Yakuza. Their sensei had to explain to like every retail and food service employee that no, they’re not here to make trouble for you they’re just American (which apparently explains everything). So I guess this guy just like never got a new wardrobe???)
I’m taking the date with a grain of salt since sbj herself hasn’t explicitly posted it anywhere, but if you clicked the link in the first ask that mentioned the update, sbj DID post on her dreamwidth about the fic updating, which is absolutely much more than she’s said on anything else since the hiatus started.
