hi if you’ve been following my Sad Saga at all then you already know i have lupus and have been struggling to actually work and dancing with the social security administration while my physical health keeps goin down the tubes.
well this past tuesday (july 3) i went to my rheumatologist and left with a fibromyalgia diagnosis to add to my growing list of problems (after sleeping 14 hours saturday and then waking up sunday feeling incredibly tender). it’s getting increasingly harder to perform my job duties because half the time i can’t even walk – if you can call it walking, more like painful tottering from side to side – and i know at this point i am going to have to stop working but…bills.
all my money goes into phone and internet, paying for gas to get to and from work and doctor’s appointments, a myriad of prescriptions (and by the way, i may be adding cymbalta to that long list soon), and then three credit card bills. i get paid tomorrow (7/5) but half of that is going right to my phone bill and one credit card. the other two can wait until my next check in two weeks, but i still need the internet at least chipped at (it shouldnt be 171 but centurylink keeps trying to overcharge me). i also need gasoline because my commute is 40 minutes each way and i need my scrips refilled, and yes, i know about goodrx, but being on seven going on eight eats away really fast!!!

predictably, i havent been able to get my latest round of scrips and i desperately need my mobic and imuran right now, what with my pain intensifying by the day (we’re talking ten steps makes my legs and back hurt horribly). i’ve mentioned it before but i also have marked hypermobility issues that i now suspect may be linked to hEDS. unfortunately it could be another year and a half before i even get a court date for my disability appeal (and i’ve been appealing a year and a half already) so that’s fun. i got another $20 last night but i wont be able to get any scrips until i update my financial screening info, otherwise the meds i get from the hospital will be $114, and the $65 inhaler i’m on already set me back. i still have bitchin carpal tunnel in both hands and i’m probably gonna need another prednisone increase, and i still have another week and a half until my EMG on my arms. i’m STILL! WORKING! but i just can’t do full-time work right now; my doctors don’t recommend it.
so yeah, that’s an expansion on my sob story. obviously i get no joy from online crowdfunding but you all have saved my ass many times before so thank you all again. as always, keep it moving if you can’t be civil!

One of the top threads was a step by step instruction on how to teach black and brown students when you’re a white supremacist that included misinformation and propaganda. This is the second time I’m reading about a white supremacist being outed as a teacher this year and, no doubt, there are more of them.

Blackfeet Nourish has been providing food for the Medicine Bear Shelter and Blackfeet Food Bank for more than six years. The month of February has been grueling. Blackfeet [Nation reservation] has been hit by blizzard after blizzard with hurricane-force winds. Many people around Blackfeet Nation are both trapped in their homes and trapped out of their homes, in shelters, and other people’s homes.
100% of the donations will go to food for the Blackfeet Nation and dispersed [by] the shelter and as directed by Blackfeet Tribe’s Incident Command Center.

On March 14th the walkout starts at 10 am, where everyone will walkout of the class rooms and into the streets for 17 minutes at the very least !!!!!! The organization suggests wearing orange to show solidarity.

Sadly, no; I got called a “Skype promoting lies” last week for posting about how my congregation made support for Black Lives Matter an important component of our Rosh Hashanah services.
